Mata Sahib Kaur Keertan Darbar

The Sikh Nari Manch has been celebrating Mata Sahib Kaur-the Mother of Khalsa's birthday every year since the tricentenary celebrations of 1999.  On 30th October 1999 a Keertan Darbar was held at Deshmesh Gurdwara Birmingham from 5pm-l0pm to honour Mata Sahib Kaur, the `Mother of the Khalsa' and was the first time such an event had been organised.

`Istri Sabahs' from Birmingham's Gurdwaras partici-pated, as well as many distinguished guests and speakers, making for a very memorable event.  A calendar to commemorate Mata Sahib Kaur was also printed and re-leased, sponsored by KTC Edibles.

Since then every year her birthaday is celebrated by oranising an Akhand Paath (continuous recitation of the Adi Granth) and releasing a calendar in one of the prominent Sikh woman's name.  10,000 calendars are produced and distributed free of cost to promote our heroines from the Sikh history.

So far, Mata Sahib Kaur, Mata Tripta Ji and Mata Bhag Kaur (Maaee Bhago) have been covered.  We are always looking for donations or sponsors for this noble cause.
