Children’s Vaisakhi programme.
Children’s Vaisakhi programme.
On Wednesday 14th April Sikh Nari Manch put on a Vaisakhi programme for children, at their Northside Welcome Centre. Parminder and his wife Shervgeet facilitated the event, with help from volunteers. The day started with the Children reciting the Mul Mantra, Yoga and meditation. This was followed by the children getting an understanding of Vaisakhi and learning core Sikh murals and values.
The Children went on to do Arts and Crafts, using their creativity they produced some fantastic Vaisakhi cards and displays. As the children continued to play they were getting a deeper understanding of Vaisakhi, as all the activates were based around Vaisakhi.
At lunch time the children were treated to some tasty vegetarian Pizzas. After Lunch the Children continued to play games and were told more Vaisakhi stories.
The day finished with the Children displaying their handy work, reflecting thoughts of the day and received Vaisakhi presents.
Below are some photographs taken on the day.
